BEXIMCO WILL BEAR COST OF ARGENTINA-NIGERIA MATCH IN DHAKA.

Leading business conglomerate OF BD Beximco Group will bear all the expenses of a friendly FOOTBALL MATCH between football superpower Argentina and African lions Nigeria in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Salauddin on Thursday told on a press conference that the match would be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sep 6.
"Beximco responded very positively and agreed to bear all the expenses," he said.

Although the BFF is yet to calculate the exact amount to be required for holding the big match, some BFF officials said it would not be less than Tk 350 million.

Both teams are scheduled to play an exhibition match in Kolkata on Sep 2. Following the announcement, BFF planned to bring the teams in Dhaka.

The BFF at an emergency meeting on Wednesday decided to sign a deal with the agents of the two teams.

If everything went well, the two teams would arrive in Dhaka on Sep 3, BFF officials said.

They added that it would be mentioned in the deal that superstar Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez and Angel di Maria must play the game.

Following a BFF executive committee meeting on Wednesday, BFF president Kazi Salahuddin told reporters that if everything went okay, Bangladeshis would be able to enjoy a match between the two teams on Sep 6.

"We are going to sign a contract with agents within a day or two and we hope for a positive result," Salahuddin said after the meeting.

Argentina will play an exhibition match against Nigeria in Kolkata on September 2, and that is why, BFF decided to invite them in Bangladesh.

Salahuddin said, "It costs about Tk 15 crore to have those teams in Dhaka…we will manage it through sponsors."

"We have planned this to get back our pride of football. It will inspire newbies to play football," he added.

He expects both teams to reach Dhaka on September 3, if all goes well.

In the agreement, BFF will try to confirm Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez and Angel di Maria in the Argentine squad, say BFF high officials.
